Ingredients

  • 7 cups apple cider
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon whole allspice
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 1/2 cups dark rum
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch schnapps


Directions

  1. Combine the cider and brown sugar in a saucepan. Wrap the cinnamon sticks, allspice, cloves and lemon zest in cheesecloth and add to the cider mixture; bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Remove the spice bundle and stir in the rum and butterscotch schnapps. Serve warm in mugs.
