- 1 cup ketchup
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup sherry
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon Chinese 5-spice powder
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Mix ketchup, brown sugar, soy sauce, sherry, hoisin sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, ginger, 5-spice powder, and pepper in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook and stir until flavors combine, 10 to 15 minutes.
