Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sherry
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon Chinese 5-spice powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper


Directions

  1. Mix ketchup, brown sugar, soy sauce, sherry, hoisin sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, ginger, 5-spice powder, and pepper in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook and stir until flavors combine, 10 to 15 minutes.
