Spaghetti Sauce from the Slow Cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon anise seed
  • 1 bay leaf


Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease.
  2. Stir beef, diced tomatoes, onion, tomato paste, sugar, Parmesan cheese, garlic, salt, oregano, anise seed, and bay leaf together in a slow cooker.
  3. Cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours.
